Car Log provides a free, multi-tenant web application designed to help users track vehicle metrics, including but not limited to fuel economy, service history, and odometer readings. The Service also includes features such as community benchmarking and third-party part quote requests.
3. Account Registration and Security
To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account.
- Passwordless Login: We utilize a secure One-Time Password (OTP) system sent via email. You are responsible for maintaining the security and control of the email account used to register for the Service.
- Account Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
- Account Responsibility: You are strictly responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Car Log will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to secure your email account.
4. User Data and Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information in connection with the Service is described in our Privacy Policy.
- Data Ownership: You retain all rights to the specific vehicle data you input into the Service.
- Aggregated Benchmarking: By using the Service, you consent to your data being anonymized and aggregated to generate community benchmarks (e.g., average fuel consumption for a specific engine type). This aggregated data contains no personally identifiable information.
5. Accuracy of Information and Calculations
Car Log provides calculations, estimates, and trends based solely on the data you input. We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of these calculations.
- The Service is a tracking tool and should not replace professional mechanical advice, diagnostics, or official vehicle servicing guidelines.
- Car Log is not responsible for any vehicle damage, missed services, or financial losses resulting from reliance on the data or reminders generated by the Service.
6. Third-Party Services and Quotes
The Service may facilitate requests for part quotes from third-party local and national suppliers. Car Log acts solely as an intermediary to pass your request to these suppliers.
We do not endorse, guarantee, or assume responsibility for the quality, pricing, delivery, or suitability of parts provided by third-party suppliers. Any transaction entered into is strictly between you and the third-party supplier.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Submit false, misleading, or intentionally inaccurate vehicle data to manipulate community benchmarks.
- Attempt to interfere with, compromise the system integrity or security, or decipher any transmissions to or from the servers running the Service.
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
8. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by using the "Delete Account" feature within your dashboard. Upon deletion, your personal data and specific vehicle logs will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. CAR LOG EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CAR LOG, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS, BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
